Annual Programs & Festivals

विभिन्न उत्सव, दैनिक शाखा र सेवा कार्यमार्फत हिन्दू स्वयंसेवक संघ नेपालले स्वयंसेवक तथा परिवारहरुलाई अनुशासन, भक्ति र सेवाभावका साथ हिन्दू जीवनपद्धति—जीवन–मूल्यहरु अपनाउन प्रेरित गर्दै आएको छ।

1. Shri Guru Purnima Celebration:

The Shri Guru Purnima festival, a celebration expressing gratitude towards teachers, is observed nationwide by the Sangh by worshipping the supremely sacred Bhagwadhwaj, established as the Guru of the organization. Along with Guru worship, motivated by the spirit of sacrifice and dedication, volunteers selflessly offer the Shri Guru Dakshina program across the country. This Guru Dakshina forms the foundation of the Sangh’s work. 

2. Raksha Bandhan Program:

During Raksha Bandhan, a sacred festival that emphasizes the responsibility of protecting society and the nation, volunteers first offer a Raksha Sutra (Rakhi) to the sacred saffron flag and tie a Rakhi to each other. This festival is celebrated grandly in branches across the country.

3. Vijaya Dashami Celebration:

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, the foundation day of the Sangh is celebrated in some branches. During this, volunteers attend in full uniform (the prescribed attire of the Sangh) and organize special programs.

4. Makar Sankranti (Maghe Sankranti) Celebration:

सामाजिक समरसताको पर्व मकर संक्रान्तिका अवसरमा देशभरका शाखाहरुमा वनभोज तथा सामुहिक खिचडी सहभोज कार्यक्रम आयोजना गरिन्छ। साथै, विभिन्न पवित्र तीर्थस्थलहरुमा श्रद्धालुहरुलाई खिचडी प्रसाद वितरण लगायतका विविध सेवामूलक कार्यक्रमहरु गरिन्छ।

5. Salutation to the First Head of the Sangh (Adya Sarsanghchalak Pranam):

वर्षप्रतिपदा एवं संघका संस्थापक परम् पूजनीय आद्य सरसंघचालक डा. केशव बलिराम हेडगेवार ज्यूको जन्मजयन्तीको अवसरमा स्वयंसेवकद्वारा देशका विभिन्न स्थानमा पूर्ण गणवेशमा स्वयंसेवक सम्मेलन गरी आद्य सरसंघचालक प्रणाम गरिने गरेको साथै पथ–सञ्चलन कार्यक्रम गरिन्छ ।

6. New Year Celebration:

वैदिक कालगणना अनुसार हिन्दू नववर्षलाई हर्षोल्लासका साथ मनाउने सन्देश दिन प्रत्येक वर्ष बैशाख १ गते विभिन्न कार्यक्रमहरु आयोजना गरिन्छ। यस क्रममा देशभर दीप प्रज्ज्वलन, महाआरती, सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुति एवं शुभकामना आदान-प्रदान गरिन्छ। संघको प्रयासका कारण अहिले कीर्तन मण्डली, मन्दिर समिति र स्थानीय संघ-संस्थाहरुले पनि उत्साहका साथ नववर्ष मनाउने लहर चलेको छ।

Special Program – Swami Vivekananda Cultural Knowledge Examination:

This exam is conducted to instill pride in the new generation towards their homeland, religion and culture, embodying Swami Vivekananda's motto of "An ideal student is an ideal citizen".

  • Time: Magh and Falgun months of every year.
  • Participation: Approximately 30,000 students and more than 3,500 teachers actively participate in this exam, which is conducted at about 45-50 locations across the country.

“शक्तिवान् र महत्वाकांक्षीलाई आक्रामक बन्नका लागि प्र्रोत्साहन अथवा प्रेरणा कसले दिन्छ ? दुर्बल समाजले । दुर्बलता महापाप हो । कुनै पनि समाज दुर्बल नरहने हो भने यो विश्व शान्तिपूर्ण हुनेछ । विश्वका माथि मडारिने सबै विपत्तिहरूलाई पन्छाउनका लागि सबै समाज बलिष्ठ एवं संघटित बनून्, यही एकमात्र उपाय हो ।… संघको ध्येय आफ्नो धर्म, आफ्नो समाज र आफ्नो संस्कृतिको रक्षाका लागि हिन्दूहरूको सक्षम संगठन गर्नु हो । यसबाट हाम्रो गुमेको आत्मविश्वास पुनः जागृत हुनेछ र यसको सामर्थ्यका अगाडि आक्रामकहरूको उद्दण्ड प्रकृति फितलो हुनेछ । उनीहरू हामीमाथि आक्रमण गर्नेबारे फेरि विचार पनि गर्नसक्ने छैनन् ।”
