The three words in this name have specific meanings:

  • Hindu: It signifies the shared cultural identity and worldview of this land.
  • Swayamsevak: It refers to a person who is selflessly devoted to society and the nation without expecting any return.
  • Sangh: It denotes organized collective strength and a spirit of close-knit unity.

The Daily Shakha is the fundamental basis of the Sangh’s working method. It is a daily one‑hour program that includes sports/games, exercise (yoga), prayer, songs, and intellectual discussions for physical, mental, and intellectual development.

All people from every caste, region, and linguistic background are welcome. The Sangh promotes equality, social harmony, and mutual respect without any form of discrimination.

The Sangh does not consider any flesh‑and‑blood person to be a guru, because a person can never be fully perfect. Therefore, the “Bhagwa Dhwaj,” a symbol of renunciation, penance, purity and knowledge, is regarded as the guru. It conveys the message of devotion to principles (tattva‑worship) or dedication to ideals rather than worship of an individual.

Guru Dakshina is a voluntary financial offering that Swayamsevaks make once a year before the guru (Bhagwa Dhwaj). It is not merely a monetary donation but an expression of one’s sense of duty, gratitude and belonging toward the organization, which helps make the organization financially self‑reliant.

The Sangh’s sanskars are not limited to mere words; they are life‑values that are put into practice. These include equality, camaraderie, discipline, a simple lifestyle, and a spirit of selfless service. Immersed in the Sangh’s environment, these qualities come to form a Swayamsevak’s way of life.

Its long‑term goal is to elevate society and the nation to a state of supreme glory through the development of individuals. Through cultural awareness and service activities, it seeks to build a society that is organized, powerful, and self‑respecting.
